Currently there is a great demand to educate pupil, students, professionals and citizens in general about green and sustainable chemistry, including topics that show its context, challenges and potential all over the world, with emphasis on Latin America and African universities.
This project aims at enabling green issues to be taught from the underlying principles of all chemistry courses rather than in isolation in a number of higher education institutions, proposing and discussing different approaches adopted in sustainable education around the world.
Innovative educational materials and methods:
who, what and when
The didactic Green Chemistry modules are planned considering the literature and experiences of the task group involved. The development of the curricula is constantly evaluated in several ways. For instance, the annual regional and international meetings are opportunities to analyse the progress of our project, and to disseminate its results to the task group, institution representatives and the surrounding communities in Latin America and Africa.

Update
The engagement of some members has been possible since the beginning of the project, especially when new didactic proposals are implemented in several levels and modalities of education, as are the cases at Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil (http://www.gpqv.ufscar.br , http://www.pnsc.ufscar.br), University of Venda, South Africa (http://www.univen.ac.za/), University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (https://ufrj.br/) Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina (http://www.unlp.edu.ar/) and Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (http://www.pucp.edu.pe), as well as University Ca'Foscari of Venice, Italy (http://www.unive.it/), Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal (http://www.unl.pt/) and The University of York (http://www.york.ac.uk/).
Part of these activities includes:
I. Development of Graduate and Post-Graduate Programs in Green and Sustainable Chemistry;
II. Proposal of outreach courses for the public in general;
III. Foster Academy-Industry collaboration.
